Stoop Bakery Café is a community-inclusive meeting and eating place that offers the finest French pastry and viennoiserie creations, and freshly baked crusty artisan breads of French Master Baker Yemen Tounsi. We call it Amour Fou….translated as Crazy Love, which is how people feel about our bakery creations.
We welcome you to come in for quick takeout, or to “come hang out” to meet, work, or play on your devices, while enjoying Forty Weight espresso and drip coffees with your sweet or savory breakfast, French Café lunch of demi-baguette sandwiches, house-made soup, salad, focaccia, individual pizzas, or just
for an afternoon snack.

Eric, owner of The Stoop Kitchen and Stoop Bakery Café, is a lifelong resident of Syracuse, a parent of two wonderful daughters, a husband, a serial entrepreneur, a trustee of the Everson Museum of Art, a past Professor of Entrepreneurship at Syracuse University, and a lover of all aspects of rural Central New York, especially its landscape beauty and the robust nature of its agricultural community.
Yemen, the force behind Stoop Bakery Café, is a French Master Baker, raised and trained in France. Yemen has travelled the world in his baking adventure and in pursuit of his baking passion, including stops at some of the world’s great resorts, developing training and baking programs at some of Europe’s largest food producers, and most recently overseeing the largest baking commissary at Apple. Yemen loves his new home in Syracuse, reminding him of his childhood days in Lyon, France, and looks forward to introducing our community to world-class French pastries, viennoiserie and crusty artisan breads.
Maggie, our earliest hire as a barista at Stoop Bakery Café, quickly earned and inspired the respect of her peers and love of our Bakery and Café guests, through her dedication, warmth and indomitable smile. In addition to her Barista duties, Maggie has been elevated to Bakery Café manager. When she is not cheering your day, Maggie also pursues her love of dance and as a choreographer and teacher. Reiki is in her future.
